THE 2007 IFMAR 1/5th SCALE ON-ROAD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Queensland Radio Circuit Car Racing Association is honoured and pleased to announce that they have been chosen by The International Federation of Model Auto Racing (IFMAR) to host the 2007 1/5th scale World Championships at their England Park Track located in Brendale, Queensland, Australia.

As well as any other information that visitors to the event will need to make their stay an enjoyable and memorable one.

In the meantime you can vist the 200mm worlds site to get an idea of the facilities and services that will be available for the 2007 Worlds.

For those of you visiting from overseas the following information may be of interest.

Queensland offers a huge variety of activities to the visiting racer and their family.

One of the beauties about visiting Brisbane is that you can pretty much treat every day in this sub-tropical city like a leisurely Sunday! And in this city, Sunday does not mean the shops are closed and the streets empty.

On the contrary. Brisbane, seven days a week is full of vitality, colour, and plenty of options. Whether visitors are into shopping, art, dining out, soaking up the sun or simply enjoying the beautiful BrisbaneRiver, our city has much to offer.

From the beautiful SouthBankBeach in the heart of the city there’s always something exciting to do in Brisbane.

After dark, there is always plenty of entertainment in Brisbane, and a seemingly endless choice of things to do. Aside from the 24-hour Casino, there are night-clubs, pubs and wine bars to socialise in and meet some friendly Brisbane locals!

Ask around for the places to go - an intimate sidewalk jazz bar, a blues club in a restored church - just follow the sound of music and people enjoying the balmy evenings.

Brisbane city is not only a great destination in its own right: It is an ideal stepping-off point for a range of day tours - into the surrounding hinterland of South East Queensland Country or the vibrant coastal regions of the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast including Noosa & Surfers Paradise. Just ask a local to suggest where to begin. For those staying on after the event it is a short flight to North Queensland and the world famous Great Barrier Reef or stay on a take in the Indy Carnival 2007 on the Gold Coast.

For more information on activities to do before and after the racing has finished make sure to visit http://www.queenslandholidays.com.au/

There will also be more detailed information and links of Brisbane and Queensland on the official 2007 World Championship website which will be up in late 2006.

Kind Regards

Alastair Walker

Please be advised that the website for the 2007 IFMAR 1/5th Circuit World Championship is now online at http://www.5thscaleworlds.com on the site you will find all the information relating to the World Championship.

As well you will also find information and entry forms relating to the 2007 FEMCA Championship race that is being combined with the 2007 AARCMCC Queensland State Championship. These two races are being held from May 3rd to the 6th and we are inviting international drivers to attend this meeting and use it as a warm-up for the World Championship in September.

There will be a forum setup shortly on the world championship website and that will be the only forum that the organisers will use to answer questions.

Until then if you have any questions regarding the event please feel free to contact me at any of my contact details listed below and I will be happy to help.
