Sorry but really what i load of bull**** of a Worlds.
A big shame for the Large Scale section.
Do people really think it was going to help promote Large Scale racing?!?!

But at least it is over with now. Maybe we can learn from it.

The only thing i will say is good luck in defending your crown in 2 years!!

Congrats to the new champ, I think it is probably best to move on from this quite moment in the life of 1:5 and look forward.
I really hope that at the next worlds we actually have a team from SA, we would all love to meet you and see how we stack up on the track.
It´s not my job to fix everything, it's my job to get everything fixed!!

Blaming the SA drivers and namely the event winner, is not justified in my opinion.
The guy won an event he was the fastest at. Simple as that and nothing wrong about it.

I wonder, If all entries was elite, would people show the same desrespect towards the small attendance? I think not.

just my 2 cents.

Hi,

I don't see any blame towards the SA drivers, only the organisation/location of the Worlds. The drivers are more than welcome here and can have my assurance that they will be treated with respect.

I agree, "blame" is inaccurate, but an attitude like:

"we'll be expecting you 'fake-champ' and bet you'll finish 75th,... if you dare to show up at all"

is obvious to me...

@ Akouk:

1* The guy who won is not a fake World Champ, his name will go into the books as a World Champ.

2* The negativity is towords IFMAR and the organiser not towords the SA drivers.

3* I have been to almost (exept for SA) all worlds events and i can only remember 1 SA driver in Ettlingen. So i agree fully with Mikeeee that we hope to see a team from SA in Brest.
AND THEY WILL BE TREATED WITH RESPECT WHEN THEY WILL COME TO EUROPE!!!

Every driver who raced in the SA world championships deserves congratulations, they went, they raced and the winner is world champion.

The questions regarding whether the event should have gone to SA in the first place, or if Ifmar should have perhaps listened to the overwhelming concerns a little more closely is a different story. I'm sure that the number of entries (or lack of) will not have gone un-noticed by the powers that be, and hopefully lessons have been learnt. We should all move on, it's water under the bridge now and we should all look forward to the next one in Brest/France.
