front grill opening

Postby Tommaso » Thu Apr 19, 2012 2:01 pm

Hi ,

is it true that a very large front grill removal can lead to excessive fuel consumption ?

Hi,

Forgive me for any misunderstanding but if there's a lot of air going inside the car instead of around it, it will increase drag, so I'd say yes as you'll need to increase the throttle to get the same speed.

I tested the car with the opening and I think the engines actually runs cooler , I also found the car inside very clean without lots of dust.

As for the aereodinamics I am not too sure as at the end of the straignt going into the fast bend it feels somehow floating , but maybe it is all in my mind ....

what's for sure is that the engine works better .
