With the standard plastic brake balancer moulding on the SVM large scale cars made by Radiosistemi, it is very easy to strip the threads of the soft plastic. An aluminium replacement could be considered, but a simple and inexpensive solution is to use two collets on the cables, as shown in the diagram on the right.
